Taylor Swift may have announced her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, but that wasn’t the only major news for the multi-award-winning singer this week. She also shattered a Guinness World Record—this time as a podcaster.

Swift appeared on New Heights, the podcast hosted by Kelce and his brother Jason, on Aug. 13, 2025.

Her two-hour sit-down peaked at 1.3 million concurrent viewers during its livestream, and has since become the most-viewed podcast video on YouTube within 24 hours, Guinness World Records confirmed.

At one stage, the surge of traffic even caused the stream to briefly crash before it was restored. Within 16 hours, the episode had already passed 10 million views; it has now topped 20 million. Guinness World Records called the feat “a landmark moment for podcasting.”

Engagement confirmed

Swift confirmed her engagement to Kelce, who she started dating in 2023. The pair shared the news in a joint Instagram post on Aug. 26, captioned: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

The photos showed Kelce proposing in a garden and Swift wearing a custom old mine brilliant cut diamond ring, which Kelce co-designed with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry.

Swift on New Heights

Swift used the podcast to tease her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, due in October. She also discussed her fight to reclaim her masters, reflected on the record-breaking Eras Tour, and sparked speculation about a possible Super Bowl halftime performance.

Clips of Swift and Kelce telling the story of how they met and celebrating her career milestones went viral on social media, boosting the episode’s reach even further.

New Heights, launched in 2022, has quickly grown into one of the biggest sports podcasts in the world. It has topped Spotify’s sports charts, ranked number one on Apple Podcasts, and won multiple honors including Podcast of the Year at the 2024 iHeartPodcast Awards. By 2025, more than half its audience was women, highlighting its appeal beyond the NFL.

Swift’s record-breaking legacy

This podcast milestone adds to a long list of Swift’s Guinness-recognized achievements. She also holds the following records:

  • The highest-grossing concert or performance film for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (2023)
  • The most simultaneous Billboard 200 albums for a living artist (10 at once)
  • The fastest-selling U.S. album by a female country artist (Speak Now, 2010)
  • The most-streamed album on Amazon Music in 24 hours (Midnights, 2022)
  • The most streamed album on Spotify in 24 hours (The Tortured Poets Department, 2024, with 313.7 million plays)

In 2023, Guinness formally named Swift a World Records Icon in recognition of her achievements across music, film, and now podcasting.
