The Los Angeles Dodgers have the best record in baseball with 12 wins and four losses.

Not a surprise.

The Dodgers also have one of the best pitching staffs through the first few weeks of the 2026 MLB campaign.

Again, also not a surprise.

Oh, and they currently have the best player in baseball on their team.

That’s not a surprise either; they have Shohei Ohtani.

But wait, although Ohtani has been fantastic on the mound and already has five home runs this season, he’s not who I’m talking about.

I’m talking about Andy Pages, the Cuban center fielder who is unstoppable at the plate, has a rocket of an arm, and is making defensive plays across the field with outrageous range.

This is all coming off a postseason where the Dodgers might have repeated, but Pages was terrible. He had one of the worst playoffs for a starting hitter to win a championship in baseball history, somehow only having four hits in 51 at-bats.

It was horrific. Although Pages came up as a hero in Game 7 of the World Series with his now iconic catch scaling teammate Enrique Hernandez to save the game, his bat almost lost them that same game in the 10th inning when he couldn’t do anything at the plate with the bases loaded.

But following a disastrous postseason, Pages went to work, turning down a chance to represent his country at the World Baseball Classic to focus on the MLB season ahead. Dodgers coaching staff raved about Pages’ work ethic throughout the offseason, looking to change his approach at the plate and evolve as a player.

Thus far, it’s been a remarkable first few weeks of the season for the Dodgers center fielder, spearheading L.A.’s lineup that includes multiple All-Stars and MVPs.

If Pages can keep up 80% of what he’s done early on, not only will he be starting for the National League in the All-Star Game, but by the time the chill of fall and October roll around, this might be the scariest Dodgers team in history.

And for the 29 other teams in MLB trying to stop their three-peat, the emergence of Pages is something they hope is just a hot streak. If it’s not, things might get scary come October.
