Emergency services are under the pump this weekend with a number of fatal crashes and incidents on WA’s roads.

The incident happened just after 9 o’clock on Sunday, and forced motorists to use the Cedric Street off-ramp northbound, despite it previously being closed for construction.

Traffic was reduced to a single lane and cars were banked up as far back as Leederville.

It took cars 40 minutes to move between just after Glendalough Station and Cedric Street.

St John’s Ambulance, police and Main Roads WA are all on site, and have closed off the freeway directly adjacent to the Stirling train station.

Traffic has been forced down side roads into Innaloo, with police managing the flow of cars towards the coast.

Main Roads has urged motorists to take the Powis Street exit.
