An “unruly” passenger aboard a Frontier Airlines flight made a bomb threat just after landing at a Georgia airport on Sunday, according to authorities.
Frontier Flight 2539 from Columbus, Ohio, touched down at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and was taxiing to the gate just after 5 p.m. when the passenger made the verbal bomb threat, a Frontier Airlines spokesperson told The Post.
“As a matter of precaution and in coordination with local authorities, the aircraft parked at a remote location while law enforcement responded,” Frontier said in a statement.
Passengers were taken off the plane via air stairs and bused to the terminal, and authorities deemed the threat to be not credible.
Atlanta police said in a statement that the incident involved an unidentified “unruly passenger.”
Air Traffic Control audio between the Frontier pilot and tower revealed that the passenger had also threatened to kill a woman seated next to him, 11Alive reported.
“He’s in his seat. He is starting to threaten to kill the lady who’s sitting next to him, and he is saying that he has a bomb on board,” the pilot said, per the outlet.
It is not immediately clear whether the passenger was arrested following the threat.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation will lead the investigation into the incident, cops said.
