A compilation video featuring three of Wheel of Fortune‘s most brutal blunders from over the years has become a cringe-watch on social media, scoring more than 4 million views — and fans have been sharing their frustrations.
The compilation video, which was shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, March 2, began with what appeared to be an easy puzzle to finish. The contestant, Alex, said, “I’m declaring victory” for the two-word answer, with his arms raised in a victory pose. Clearly thinking he had solved the puzzle, he managed a poker face when the buzzer sounded and host Pat Sajak moved on. The next player said simply, “Declaring victory,” winning the round. Sajak then looped back around and said, “Alex, you look a little puzzled, but you added a word,” referring to the contestant’s saying “I’m” at the beginning of his answer. “You’re not allowed to do that,” Sajak admonished. “You have to just say the puzzle.”
“Alex was cool about it afterwards,” assured one commenter, who said he was on set waiting to film his own episode.
“Pat had zero chill on the rules,” said another.
“One of the most ironic things ever,” added another.
In another tough-to-watch slip-up, a player had only one letter left to solve “corner curio cabinet.” But it turned into a tongue twister, and the contestant said “Cornell curl cabinet” instead, and the buzzer sounded.
“That one is hilarious,” said one fan, “like, straight out of South Park or something.”
“This is a scam!” said another fan after watching the video.
In the final fumble, the video showed two players in a row saying the “pointed” desert instead of the “Painted” Desert, a famous national park in Arizona.
“How Pointy is the Pointed Desert?” quipped a commenter. “Now I want to know.”
“I blame the public education system,” said another.
