Where Are the Original ‘Harry Potter’ Movies Streaming?
The eight films in the original Harry Potter series, starting with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001) and ending with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2 (2011), are currently available to stream on both Peacock and HBO Max.
Where Are the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Films Streaming?
The three Fantastic Beasts films, which star Eddie Redmayne as magizoologist Newt Scamander, are available only on HBO Max. The trilogy consists of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016), Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022).
Where and When Will the ‘Harry Potter’ TV Series Be Available to Stream?
The Harry Potter television series only recently began production, and no exact release date has yet been announced. According to Deadline, HBO CEO and Chairman of HBO and Max Content Casey Bloys expects the series to premiere in late 2026 or early 2027. Like all HBO content, it will presumably be available to stream on HBO Max.
In the meantime, there are a few Harry Potter-adjacent series available on HBO Max as well. Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking (2024), hosted by James and Oliver Phelps (who portrayed the Weasley twins in the original films) sees bakers compete with magic-themed creations on original Harry Potter sets. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses (2021) is a trivia show hosted by Helen Mirren that tests the knowledge of HP superfans.
