Emily in Paris went through some cast exits and character shakeups, so who is — and isn’t — expected to return in a potential season 6?

After spending most of season 5 in a relationship, Emily (Lily Collins) ended up single with a hint at a reunion with Gabriel (Lucas Bravo). The fictional chef, however, was largely absent from the Netflix series after Bravo previously threw shade at how his character was portrayed.

“[Lucas] really wasn’t consulted [on Gabriel’s season 5 arc], and he just chose to come back to the show,” creator Darren Star told Decider in December 2025. “The story line worked out.”

Star continued: “Because that’s not where Emily’s story was, or where we ever planned it to be in season 5. The story line wasn’t about Emily and Gabriel. At the same time, it was great to have him and keep him in the world of the show.”

Looking ahead, season 6 would likely incorporate a trip to Greece. There were also some major professional and romantic developments that hinted at onscreen shakeups. Keep scrolling to see who would and wouldn’t return in season 6:

Lily Collins

The fifth season ended on a cliffhanger as Gabriel extended an invite for Emily in Greece.

“Assuming we’re picked up, I want to go back to Paris. But I want to go other places too,” director Andrew Fleming told Us in December 2025. “It’s teased where we might end up going at the end of season 5 — there’s a possibility we’ll be going there, to Greece.”

Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu

Sylvie is expected to appear after ending her marriage and having brief romantic entanglements throughout season 5.

Ashley Park

Season 5 kicked off with Mindy secretly hooking up with Alfie (Laviscount) after splitting from her ex. They called it quits once Emily found out and Mindy ultimately got engaged — as Alfie was planning to fight for their relationship.

In the event that the series gets renewed, Mindy’s love triangle would be at the center of the next season.

Lucas Bravo

While Gabriel was largely absent from season 5, Fleming told Us the plan is to bring Bravo back, saying, “Gabriel is important. He’s part of the DNA of the show. When he and Emily are in a scene together, something undefinable happens. They have this chemistry. They do. There’s just something about the two of them that’s very watchable.”

He continued: “Looking ahead, they’re part of each other’s journey. Who is to say who Emily is going to end up with, but Emily and Gabriel are going to interact with each other. Stuff is going to happen [but] I really can’t say anything about what’s going to happen next season.”

Camille Razat

Razat was introduced as Gabriel’s love interest when the show debuted in 2021 but ultimately left before season 5.

“After an incredible journey, I’ve made the decision to step away from Emily in Paris,” Razat told TVLine in April 2025. “It has been a truly wonderful experience — one filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable memories. I’m deeply grateful to Darren Star and the entire team at Netflix and Paramount for their trust and for giving me the opportunity to bring Camille to life and leaving the door open for her return, as she will always be a part of Emily in Paris world.”

Lucien Laviscount

Alfie can’t break up Mindy’s engagement if he isn’t a major part of season 6. (The actor previously had a smaller role in season 4 when he went from a series regular to recurring status due to scheduling issues. Laviscount has since made a deal to rejoin as a series regular going forward.)

Paul Forman

Nic’s proposal to Mindy in season 5 hints at him returning as the story line plays out on screen.

Eugenio Franceschini

Just because Emily’s romance with Marcello came to an end — for now — doesn’t mean Franceschini won’t be back if the show is renewed.

Samuel Arnold

“I would love for Julien to travel. I would love Julien to start his own business — maybe his own marketing firm. I would love for him to travel to the states maybe and work there,” Arnold told Us in December 2025 about possible story lines in season 6. “When you switch the environment, you can bring more stories and more situations. I would love to see more of Julien’s journey and goals.”

Bruno Gouery

If Emily in Paris returns then so will Gouery as Luc.

Thalia Besson

Geneviève isn’t expected to come back after being fired in season 5.

Bryan Greenberg

Greenberg’s brief role as Jake in season 5 left fans wanting more. It is unclear whether there are plans to incorporate the newcomer more in future episodes.

Minnie Driver

Now that Princess Jane is an official member of Savoir, Driver will presumably have a larger role.
