Influencer Karissa Collins may be making headlines for her miscarriage backlash, but she’s been in the public eye for several years.
Karissa and husband Mandrae Collins began their family YouTube channel in 2017, sharing everyday videos with their 11 children. Days after sharing that she suffered a missed miscarriage in July 2025, Karissa uploaded a TikTok clip of her younger children playfully hitting her belly. The since-deleted video sparked backlash online, which Karissa later said she wanted to “apologize” for.
“I don’t do clickbait. I don’t like controversy. I don’t post offensive things for followers. I don’t want followers like that. I’m not all about a following,” she said. “I am just about sharing the message that God has given me, and the ministry that I have, which is that you can trust God with your womb. … We encourage women to trust God with how many children he wants to give.”
Karissa noted that her children were “having fun” displaying their stomachs after a meal.
“I said, ‘Y’all want to see a big belly, let me show you my belly.’ I have a big belly. I have extra chunk from being pregnant 15 times that I am currently trying to work off,” she explained. “I shared the video because my kids saw my stomach, and they just started laughing. They were squeezing it like slime and Squishmallows. It was the funniest thing. I never wanted to forget that moment of them finding so much joy in my belly.”

Karissa and Mandrae Collins Want ‘As Many Children’ As Possible
In a June 2025 TikTok, Karissa and Mandrae revealed they want to keep expanding their family. “As 41 year old parents to 11 children, we’re not afraid to admit…We want as many children as the Lord wants to give.”
One month later, Karissa defended her and Mandrae’s big brood. “If you haven’t had 11 children, I don’t feel like you have the right to say it’s impossible or that you can’t do it,” she said. “I used to say that when I had five children. … I had no idea that God had planned for a big family for us. We simply believe that we are to live life of faith, and that children are eternal [and that] they have value. Lots of value.”
Karissa Collins Attended College
Karissa shared via Facebook that she attended Barclay College. In a July 2025 TikTok video, Karissa explained her education journey.
“I went to college. I got a bachelors degree in business and an associates in Bible. I worked in the finance industry for 5 years until I had my 4th child. And I’m still paying on my student loans. 🤦🏽♀️,” she wrote. “How am I using my degree today? By making 11 children and cheering on my hubs while he uses his.”
Karissa Collins Homeschools Her Children
While sharing a May 2025 TikTok video about the “top 5 things” her family is “hated” for, Karissa pointed to homeschooling as one of the reasons. “I teach a lot of children with different ages,” she explained. “It’s not easy and I’m not expert at it. But it is possible. Teachers teach many more students in one classroom every day. And school used to be multi aged classrooms.”
Karissa Collins Defends Sharing Her Children’s Lives on Social Media
Elsewhere in the May 2025 TikTok video, Karissa noted that she thinks her family is “hated” for choosing to document their lives on social media.
“There’s a strange rumor going around that I have children so I can get rich online. If that was true, why isn’t everyone doing it?” she wrote. “I started my social media as my ministry to encourage women to trust God with their family size. If I didn’t share my family, my ministry wouldn’t make sense.”
Karissa Collins Is a ‘Bible Believer’
In an October 2024 YouTube video, Karissa explained that she is a “bible believer” who follows Yahusha. “I was raised in the church. Many different denominations. Baptist, Mennonite brethren, Nazarene, Quaker, and I’ve served at several non denominational churches as a worship leader,” she wrote. “I even went to a Bible college and have a minor in Bible. I had just believed and accepted all teaching based on some popular verses here and there. I thought I knew God. I thought I was saved.”
She continued, “It wasn’t until I almost died in a miscarriage and then was hospitalized with my 7th pregnancy that I got serious and started actually reading the Bible and fasting. It changed everything. My eyes were opened.”
Karissa noted that the Bible “started to be proven true” in her life, where she saw “breakthrough, miracles and freedom.” Karissa explained that she “stopped living for me with God as my cherry on top” and instead gave up her “life for his will.” She encouraged her followers to “read the word of God,” which she said “will change your life.”
