Whoopi Goldberg issued a bold statement to those who critique The View — letting people know she and her fellow cohosts are here to stay.

On Tuesday, March 4, the long-running daytime talk show had Karine Jean-Pierre — former Press Secretary for 46th President Joe Biden — on the show to discuss the ongoing debate about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) practices.

Cohost Sunny Hostin listed out the numerous achievements of Jean-Pierre and noted how, despite her credentials, she has been called a “DEI hire.”

“You are a groundbreaker in so many ways. You have a master’s degree from Columbia. You are a lecturer in International public affairs at Columbia. Chief public affairs officer for MoveOn.org. You’ve been a political analyst at NBC News, MSNBC,” Hostin, 56, stated. “You were the regional political director for the White House, Office of Political Affairs during the Obama administration. The list really goes on. You are fluent in three languages, but the right is calling you a DEI hire.”

Jean-Pierre — the first black person and openly LGBTQ press secretary — said at the end of the day, “Inclusion is what we should be striving for.”

Goldberg, 69, then chimed in with her thoughts, making it clear that despite the haters, the women of The View will not be silenced.

“Just to put a button on it, we are not our great-grandparents. We are not our grandparents. We are of 2025. We are not the women that were in the 1950s. This is 2025, and we’re not going anywhere,” the Sister Act star stated. “All these women, whether we agree all the time or not, we are here to stay. We’re not going anywhere and you can call us any number of letters you want to. You will wake up, and we’re still here.”

You can catch The View on weekdays at 11:00 am EST on ABC.
