A woman has lost an arm after she was attacked by a lion at a zoo in Queensland’s Darling Downs on Sunday morning.

In a small town south-west of Brisbane, a young man is alleged to have operated a business that scammed the state government out of almost $150,000. For the first time, the accused can be named.

Racing at Queensland’s new greyhound racing hub has been suspended due to unsafe conditions – a decision made after a string of dog fatalities at the brand new $85 million three-track facility.

The LNP has doubled, and tripled, down on its decision to host Olympic rowing on Rockhampton’s Fitzroy River – known to inhabit crocodiles – but reporter Cameron Atfield argues there could be choppy waters ahead for the plan.
