If you entered WrestleMania 42 on Saturday excited for women’s wrestling, as it had the most women’s matches in the show’s history, you are going to be disappointed following the first night of the event.

There were three women’s matches on Saturday’s show at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, and all three of them were under 10 minutes.

The fatal four-way match for the women’s tag team championships, won by the surprise team of returning superstar Paige and Brie Bella, lasted only eight minutes and 35 seconds.

In the WWE women’s Intercontinental championship match, the half-year feud between Becky Lynch and AJ Lee came to an end in an eight-minute, 15-second matchup that never got out of first gear.

And the most egregious lack of time for a match on Saturday was the women’s world title contest between Stephanie Vaquer and Liv Morgan.

Although the build to WrestleMania 42 wasn’t lauded, the intensity between the two women had been one of the highlights entering the show.

It lasted nine minutes flat, with Morgan winning right as the crowd was starting to get interested in the bout between two of the top women in the company.

Fans online were unhappy with the representation of women’s wrestling at the biggest showcase of the year.

There is a lone women’s match scheduled for Sunday’s show, with Jade Cargill defending her title against Rhea Ripley. While women’s wrestling fans will hope for the best with one less match on the card could be more runtime, it might just be filled with more commercials.
