John Cena might be one of several ring legends who are officially done with professional wrestling this year.

Cena previously announced his retirement tour with WWE would conclude at the end of 2025.

It has since included a shocking heel turn aided by one of his biggest rivals, winning the WWE Championship to set a major record, and a return to the babyface role that made Cena popular.

After a recent emotional highlight moment, WWE fans believe that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson won’t return to the ring for any more matches.

The Rock last appeared in a big WWE segment at March’s 2025 Elimination Chamber, where Cena, then a babyface, betrayed Cody Rhodes and helped The Rock and Travis Scott attack him.

After that surprising turn of events, The Rock seemingly vanished as part of the storyline, and now fans believe he’s finally done appearing in matches.

That belief was aided by a recent video featuring The Rock that went viral from his new movie premiere.

He stars in the new film, “The Smashing Machine,” and based on the audience reaction at the premiere, it was a hit.

They reportedly gave him a 15-minute standing ovation, moving The Rock to shed tears in a very emotional moment.

Fans reacted on X, with some suggesting that The Rock won’t be back against for another high-profile match in WWE.

“Yeah he’s done with Pro Wrestling for Good,” one fan commented with a GIF of former WWE star Shawn Michaels after a final match in the ring.

“He’s ain’t ever coming back…,” another X commenter wrote.

Another X commenter said, “Yea, he’s definitely not going to be back in WWE. Might not even be an active board member anymore.”

As many fans know, The Rock left WWE for an extended period to focus on his movie career. He’s since starred and co-starred in many box office blockbusters, including the “Fast & Furious” and “Jumanji” franchises.

His newest film seems to feature a more serious role, as it grapples with the topic of an amateur wrestler and MMA fighter.

The Rock plays the lead role of Kerr, with Emily Blunt, Ryan Bader, and Oleksandr Usyk among his co-stars in the film.

In addition to starring in the movie, the wrestling legend is also credited as one of the film’s producers.

Adding to the speculation that The Rock is done with WWE is another viral post that showed he had dramatically slimmed down for another new movie role.
