Nikki Bella may have suffered an injury during SmackDown on Friday night, raising immediate concern with WrestleMania 42 now just three weeks away.
According to Bryan Alvarez, Nikki appeared to hurt her leg during a brawl off screen with Nia Jax before the finish of the tag team match. “Not sure the severity but Nikki Bella appeared to suffer some sort of leg injury while brawling off screen with Nia Jax before the finish of their tag match on SmackDown,” Alvarez wrote. “She was limping and had Nia throw her outside afterwards and never got into the ring again, and the doctor was over checking on her for the rest of the segment. Hopefully she’s ok.”
Brie Bella secured the pinfall victory for her team in the match against Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. The celebration was short-lived, however, as Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Lash Legend entered and proceeded to lay out both teams, continuing a pattern they have maintained for several weeks heading into WrestleMania season. Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, who are set to challenge the champions on the upcoming Monday Night Raw, ran down to make the save.

The injury comes at a particularly difficult time for the Bella Twins, who signed two-year WWE contracts earlier this year and have identified the Women’s Tag Team Championship as the top priority of their final run with the company. They revealed on their podcast that winning the titles as mothers would be among the most meaningful accomplishments of their careers.
The Women’s Tag Team Championship picture on SmackDown has been chaotic in recent weeks, with both the Bella Twins and Flair and Bliss receiving title opportunities against Jax and Legend only to come up short each time. The Irresistible Forces have established themselves as dominant champions heading into WrestleMania 42, with no team able to dethrone them despite repeated attempts.
No official update on Nikki’s condition has been provided by WWE. The severity of the injury is currently unknown, and it remains to be seen whether she will be able to compete going forward.
WrestleMania 42 takes place April 18-19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
