There’s an eclectic mix of movies and TV shows among Hulu‘s top 15 list this week.

Naturally, The Bear is still hanging around, as is last week’s film debut, The Amateur. But there are also a lot of new additions to enjoy.

Heading into the weekend, the Watch With Us team has selected the three popular Hulu movies and TV shows that you need to watch now.

This week’s picks include a period adventure drama, a heist film and a documentary with a very catchy name.

‘Washington Black’ (2025)

Washington Black | Official Trailer | Hulu

Hulu’s Washington Black is based on the novels by Esi Edugyan, with Ernest Kingsley Jr. portraying the title character. In the early 19th century, Wash is a slave owned by Erasmus Wilde (Julian Rhind-Tutt), a man who is renowned for his cruelty. Erasmus’ brother, Christopher ‘Titch’ Wilde (Tom Ellis), is kinder, and it’s under his tutelage that Wash’s brilliance emerges.

When Wash is forced to flee the plantation to save his life, it places him at a crossroads. Wash has to decide where he should go and determine where he can be free. Because if he’s captured, Wash will either be executed or sent back into slavery.

‘High Rollers’ (2025)

The few critics who bothered to review High Rollers largely hated this sequel to Cash Out, but Hulu subscribers seem to be embracing this B-movie Ocean’s 11. John Travolta is back as world-class thief Mason Goddard, and this film is a mini Face/Off reunion between Travolta and Gina Gershon, who plays his onscreen love interest, Amelia Decker.

After successfully robbing Abel Salzar (Danny Pardo) in the first film, Mason and his crew face Salzar’s revenge when he kidnaps Amelia.  But there’s something that Salzar wants more than just revenge, and it belongs to a rival criminal, Zade Black (Demián Castro). If Mason and his team can pull off an impossible heist and steal it back from Black, then Amelia will supposedly be set free. However, a double cross from Salzar seems more likely.

‘Trophy Wife: Murder on Safari’ (2025)

The documentary miniseries Trophy Wife: Murder on Safari wins our award for best new title of the week. Although the name of the original investigative article from Rolling Stone would also have been a good choice. (For the record, it was called Before the Dentist Knows You’re Dead.)

Dentist Larry Rudolph and his wife, Bianca Rudolph, were avid big game hunters who went on safari. When Bianca was killed in Zambia during one of those safaris, it was initially ruled an accident. But there are no accidents in the realm of true crime, and this three-part ABC News special dives deep into the investigation that uncovered fraud, Larry’s mistress and a motive to murder Bianca far away from their home.
