Zac Brown and Snoop Dogg are lighting up more than just their new track.

Brown, 47, and his band are teaming up with Snoop, 53, for their newest song and music video titled “Let It Run,” which dropped Thursday, July 31.

Brown exclusively told Us Weekly that a Snoop feature was imagined very early into the songwriting process.

“When we finished the first verse and that chorus hit, I just knew it needed a different kind of flavor, something real and iconic that would throw people a little sideways in the best way,” Brown told Us. “Snoop was that missing piece.”

Brown said he and Snoop originally met a few years ago in L.A., but this song gave them an opportunity to really connect.

“He’s a legend, and he brings a whole different kind of soul and energy to anything he touches,” Brown said.

The country singer told Us that a Snoop song that is “always on rotation” for him is “Gin and Juice.”

“That one never gets old,” he said.

Brown said that the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper is a “next level” smoker.

“I’ve been around some good smokers in my time, but he’s in a league of his own. It was all good vibes, stories and music flowing,” Brown told Us.

What do Snoop, Willie Nelson and Matthew McConaughey all have in common? Brown told Us that they are in his dream blunt rotation.

“Definitely have to say Snoop. And the king Willie Nelson’s a no-brainer. Matthew McConaughey for the stories and the vibes,” Brown said.

Brown explained why he thinks the “culture’s shifting a bit” when it comes to what artists are passing around while creating a country song, and he’s all for it.

“There’s still plenty of whiskey out there, but passing a joint’s become more common, especially off stage. It’s about connection, unwinding, getting into a creative headspace.”

On July 24, Brown announced his engagement to jewelry designer Kendra Scott, two months after the couple publicly announced their relationship on the red carpet at the 2025 American Music Awards.

“[Kendra] wasn’t able to be there for the shoot, but she’s always supportive,” Brown told Us.

“Let It Run” is now available to stream on all platforms. The Zac Brown Band’s forthcoming seventh album, Love & Fear, will be released on Friday, December 5 — the first night of their residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
