Zendaya wants to keep details about her relationship with Tom Holland private.
Zendaya, 29, opened up about her romantic life during a Wednesday, April 1, episode of “The New York Times’ Modern Love” podcast. “I just feel like for me there is this level of a parasocial investment in my personal relationship,” she said of her romance with Holland, 29, whom she is rumored to have married in secret.
“I do know that I’m a public person and so is he, and I’m also aware that we’ve grown up in front of people and we’ve done movies where we fall in love with each other, so I really do understand that and I don’t want to dismiss that like, ‘Stay out of my business,’ or whatever,” Zendaya explained.
The actress, who met Holland in 2016 while filming Spider-Man Homecoming, went on to say that she’s “a very private person” and tries to “have things” just for herself “and for him.”
“I hear it, but also my own little boundaries of what I like to bring up and talk about, but then also what I’m willing to share,” she continued, noting that she and Holland aren’t trying to “hide from the world” but instead “preserve things for [themselves].”
“We can maintain that joy just within ourselves and our loved ones and our family,” Zendaya added.
Zendaya and Holland sparked wedding rumors when her longtime stylist, Law Roach, told Access Hollywood at SAG’s 2026 Actor Awards in March that “the wedding has already happened.”
“You missed it,” he quipped. When a reporter asked whether he was serious, Roach, 47, responded, “It’s very true.”
Roach doubled down on his statement later that month at the 2026 Oscars. He told Extra that he had “no” comments that he wanted to “clarify.”
“So she’s married?” Extra’s correspondent Terri Seymour asked. Roach replied, “I said what I said.”
Zendaya has also been seen pairing her engagement ring, which she debuted at the 2025 Golden Globes, with a simple gold band.
Zendaya previously played into the wedding rumors last month while making an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! At the time, she shared a hilarious video of Holland’s face pasted over her Drama costar Robert Pattinson’s head as the onscreen couple walked down the aisle.
“It was a beautiful day,” she joked. “That was real footage. That was real! I was there.”
