As the NBA offseason gets going, one of the biggest storylines comes from the Milwaukee Bucks. Many around the league have started to speculate about what Milwaukee will do with star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo after another early playoff exit.

Antetokounmpo has already started the process of looking at other options outside Milwaukee, putting his future with the team in question. But whether the Bucks actually trade the former league MVP remains to be seen.

If the Bucks do make Antetokounmpo available on the trade market, there will be no shortage of potential suitors. Multiple teams have already been heavily linked to him, and there are always some surprises that will pop up.

One team that could get involved in the bidding for Antetokounmpo is the Phialdelphia 76ers. After a frustrating season, the 76ers may be looking to make a big splash this offseason.

Sam Vecenie of The Athletic mentioned the 76ers as a potential player in the trade sweepstakes for Antetokounmpo.

“Even the Philadelphia 76ers getting the No. 3 pick was a minor win for the Bucks, as Daryl Morey is seen league-wide as one of the executives most likely to try to get creative and swing a star trade. There is a very real difference in value between picks No. 2 and No. 3 in this draft in league circles, but it’s another option for the Bucks.”

For the 76ers to bring Antetokounmpo in, they would need to part with some crucial pieces. The Bucks likely wouldn’t want the heavy contract of Paul George, so guard Tyrese Maxey could be an option.

If the 76ers offered Maxey, the No. 3 overall pick, and other assets, this could get Milwaukee to the negotiating table. Phialdelphia could then pair Antetokounmpo with center Joel Embiid, giving them one of the better star duos in the NBA.

But whether Antetokounmpo would be interested in Philadelphia remains to be seen. Due to the NBA being a very heavy players’ league, Antetokounmpo will have some say in where he goes if he were to leave the Bucks.

The Bucks aren’t just going to give up Antetokounmpo for nothing, but the 76ers could be an interesting destination. It remains to be seen how this will all play out, but Milwaukee could have plenty of interested parties.
