A video allegedly depicting controversial streamer Clavicular shooting several rounds from his handgun at an alligator in the Florida Everglades has gone viral, prompting questions and discussion from the internet on whether or not the streamer, whose real name is Braden Peters, is being investigated.
Peters is a 20-year-old streamer known for his “looksmaxxing” content, focusing on physical attractiveness and self-improvement routines. He has live-streamed controversial and alarming content, such as in December of last year, when he appeared to run someone over with his Cybertruck while live.
The Claim
In a video shared across social media on Thursday that has millions of views, a group of four men can be seen riding in an airboat in the Everglades. Two of them fire their handguns several times at what appears to be an alligator.
“Hey, I think it’s dead,” one of the men says. “Yeah, it’s definitely dead.”
Warning: The video might be alarming to some viewers. Many X accounts shared the video, alleging that one of the men shooting was Clavicular.
The Facts
Peters has been arrested on a misdemeanor battery warrant, a spokesperson with Fort Lauderdale Police Department told Newsweek on Friday.
“On Thursday, March 26, 2026, at approximately 8:30pm, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office (FL) requested FLPD’s assistance in locating a subject with an active warrant for misdemeanor battery,” the spokesperson said. “A short time later, FLPD located and arrested Braden Peters, White male, DOB 12/17/2005. Peters was booked at the BSO Main Jail.”
However, an Osceola County Sheriff’s Office press release about the arrest sent to Newsweek made no mention of the alligator incident. Instead, a warrant for Peters’ arrest was issued after a 19-year-old woman told Osceola County deputies she had been battered in a Kissimmee, Florida, Airbnb by another woman named Violet Marie Lentz in February.
“The incident occurred inside a residence rented by 20-year-old Braden Eric Peters,” the press release said. “The victim was battered by Violet Lentz in a physical altercation. Detectives determined that Braden Peters instigated the fight and posted it on social media to exploit the two women.”
Lentz has not yet been arrested on her active warrant for battery, the press release said.
It remains unclear if Peters will face any additional charges regarding the alligator shooting. However, officers from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) are investigating the incident.
“The FWC is aware of a video depicting individuals in the Everglades on an airboat who appear to be discharging firearms at an alligator,” an FWC spokesperson told Newsweek. “FWC officers are continuing to look into the incident and will provide additional information when available. To report wildlife violations, call the Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-3922.”
The American alligator is federally protected by the Endangered Species Act, according to the FWC’s webpage.
The Ruling
True. Although Peters’ arrest on Thursday was not in regard to the alligator incident, FWC officials are investigating the video.
