Two of the top teams in the Big Ten this season meet on Saturday afternoon when No. 17 Michigan takes on No. 8 Michigan State in men’s college basketball.
The Wolverines enter this matchup with a 22-8 record and a 14-5 record in Big Ten action. However, they are reeling at the moment, entering this weekend, coming off back-to-back losses, including most recently falling 71-65 against No. 13 Maryland. Leading the way for the Wolverines in the defeat was star big man Vladislav Goldin, who had 20 points, 15 rebounds, and three assists. Also contributing mightily was his frontcourt partner Daniel Wolff, who had 20 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. It wasn’t enough for Michigan, though, and now, it closes its regular season with a tough road showdown against arch-rival Michigan State.

On the other hand, the Spartans are absolutely on a roll, entering the weekend with a 25-5 record this season and a 16-3 clip in Big Ten play. Michigan State is red hot heading into this huge matchup against Michigan, as the Spartans have won their last six games, including most recently defeating unranked Iowa behind 22 points from star guard Jase Richardson, as well as 15 points and six rebounds by forward Jaxon Kohler.
