The White House’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) warned on Tuesday that it was preparing to “ride out” the federal government shutdown, which has now extended for two whole weeks.
“OMB is making every preparation to batten down the hatches and ride out the Democrats’ intransigence,” the office said in a statement shared to X. “Pay the troops, pay law enforcement, continue the RIFs, and wait.”
The RIFs—reductions in force—is a reference to layoffs of federal employees.
