President Donald Trump is giving Tiger Woods’ relationship with Vanessa Trump his stamp of approval.

“I love Tiger and Vanessa,” he told reporters in the Oval Office on Monday, March 31, per a clip shared by the Associated Press. Vanessa, 47, was previously married to Donald’s eldest child, son Donald Trump Jr., from 2005 to 2018.

“Vanessa and Don had a very good relationship,” Trump added. “They have incredible children, five incredible children, all good athletes, all great students. And they broke up quite a while ago, which was, to me, very sad, because I think they’re both right.” (The former spouses share kids Kai, 17, Donald III, 16, Tristan, 13, Spencer, 12, and Chloe, 10.)

The president went on to state that Woods, 49, “called me a few months ago” to tell him about his new romance. “I played golf with him a couple of times over the last month, and he’s a fantastic guy and a fantastic athlete,” Trump stated. “And he told me about it, and I said, ‘Tiger, that’s good.’ I’m very happy for both [of them]. Let them both be happy. Let them both be happy. They’re both great.”

News broke earlier this month that Woods and Vanessa had been “quietly dating” for “several months,” per People. The Daily Mail also claimed that the couple had been dating since Thanksgiving 2024 and their kids attend the same Florida school. (Woods shares daughter Sam, 17, and son Charlie, 16, with his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren.)

Before news of their relationship broke, Woods was spotted with Vanessa and her eldest daughter, Kai, at the Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, California, in February. (Kai announced her commitment to play golf at the University of Miami via Instagram in August 2024.)

Woods made his romance with Vanessa Instagram official by sharing sweet snaps of the two on March 23. “Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side!” he captioned the pics. “We look forward to our journey through life together. At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.”

Donald Jr., 47, moved on from Vanessa with Kimberly Guilfoyle. The pair announced the end of their engagement in December 2024 around the time Donald Jr. sparked romance rumors with his girlfriend, Bettina Anderson.

“Don and Kimberly broke up before the election and started to divide assets around the end of September,” a source exclusively confirmed to Us Weekly at the time, noting that the exes “never discussed” their relationship publicly as not to “detract” from “important issues.”

Just as Trump approves of Woods and Vanessa’s relationship, another source exclusively told Us in January that the president thinks his son and Anderson are “a great match.”

“If he didn’t, she wouldn’t be going to the inauguration,” the insider added. Donald Jr., Anderson and Guilfoyle were all spotted attending Trump’s presidential inauguration in January.
