If you’ve ever wondered why A’ja Wilson and Bam Adebayo kept their relationship private for so long, Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart just showed you why on the latest episode of their “Roommates Show” podcast.

The New York Knicks teammates started by discussing the legitimacy of Miami Heat All-Star Bam Adebayo’s 83-point game from March 10. That led Brunson to ask Hart: “Is he now the best basketball player in the household?”

Adebayo is in a relationship with A’ja Wilson, a four-time WNBA MVP and three-time WNBA champion with the Las Vegas Aces. Hart hemmed and hawed before saying Adebayo is the better hooper of the two.

Co-host Matt Hillman said: “I don’t think he is.” Hart didn’t let up: “He is baking her.”

Hillman conceded to Hart that Adebayo would beat Wilson 1-on-1.

“At the end of the day, that’s all that matters,” Hillman stated. “He is the best one. We didn’t say, ‘Is he the best in his respective sport?’ We didn’t say that. Is he the best one? Yes. He’s frying her.”

Hillman asked Hart whether Wilson has had a superior basketball career to Adebayo, and Brunson interjected, saying the answer was obviously yes. When asked who would have been more likely to score 83 points in a game in their respective league, Brunson said: “I would have said A’ja.”

Hart disagreed, and the conversation took a sharp turn.

“Let’s be real,” Hart said. “Are WNBA teams scoring 83 as a team? What’s the scoring in WNBA games right now?” Brunson became visibly annoyed by Hart: “You’re just saying this because you know it’s gonna piss her off, and she’s gonna call you.”

Wilson’s career high in a single game is 53 points, which is tied for the all-time WNBA record. Brunson pointed out that Adebayo’s career high in a single game was 41 points before his 83-point performance.

Still, Hart was undeterred: “That’s cool, but what I’m saying is, I am not picking A’ja Wilson to outscore another entire time.”

Brunson, exasperated by now, replied: “Josh. Josh. All I’m saying is that the question posed was…”

Hart didn’t let him finish and doubled down, stating: “I would not have picked A’ja.”

Brunson adjusted his debate tactics and asked, “Alright, who would score 83 points first: A’ja or Josh Hart?”

Hart chucked uncomfortably before Brunson said, “So, shut the [expletive] up. Next question.”

Hart maintained that Wilson wouldn’t score “more than the league average” before Brunson yelled: “You’re not scoring more than the league average!”

Hart said he understood Brunson’s position but maintained he still wasn’t picking Wilson. Realizing he likely couldn’t reason with Hart, Brunson concluded: “I’m picking A’ja over you eight days out of the week.”

A four-time WNBA MVP (2020, 2022, 2024, and 2025), Wilson led the Aces to three of the past four WNBA titles, including back-to-back championships in 2022 and 2023. She also has two WNBA Finals MVPs, three WNBA Defensive Player of the Year awards, and six All-Star nods to her name.

In 2025, Wilson became the first player in league history to score at least 300 points in a single season and the first player in league history to win a championship, WNBA Finals MVP, WNBA MVP, and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season (via ESPN). Wilson and Adebayo each have two Olympic gold medals.

Brunson is a two-time All-NBA and three-time All-Star point guard who leads the Knicks in scoring and assists this season, while Hart is averaging 12.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 5.1 assists.

But forget about them. Adebayo, devoid of a fragile ego, can settle this once and for all.

Adebayo visited “The Dan Patrick Show” last week, and Patrick directly asked him: “What does your girlfriend do better than you on the basketball floor?” Adebayo replied: “Everything. Everything. She can do literally anything.”
